United States Coast Guard

Between 2002 and 2013 Faircount worked with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) to publish the agency’s annual magazine publication. Designed to showcase and promote USCG multi-role mission, people and programs to leaders within government responsible for budgetary and policy decisions as well as industry and the public.

The publication had to appeal to wide ranging audience, from active duty service members to legislators who affect the agency’s future, to members of the public including business people and students. Therefore the design and editorial tone had to straddle the divide between a reader-friendly consumer magazine and a business publication.

Rolls-Royce Owners Club

Between 1998 and 2012 Faircount worked with the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club, providing both publishing and sponsorship services. The focal point of this successful relationship was the members desk diary, a lavish hard-back book filled with information on Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles, events, and personal interests one would associate with the lifestyles of the owners of the world’s finest cars.

In addition to publishing and creative services, Faircount played an active role in introducing new sponsors to the club, in particular bringing companies to the national meet, an annual gathering in North America of members and a showcase for their concourse winning cars. Companies such as Marsh Insurance, Cessna Jets and NetJets were just three examples of several new clients Faircount introduced to the Rolls-Royce experience.

Steinway & Sons

Steinway crafts the finest handmade pianos in the world. The client required a high quality magazine that captures the handcrafted excellence of the world’s finest pianos, the musical and lifestyle interests of the people that own them. Faircount provided them an additional owner benefit

Steinway & Sons wished to upgrade its newsletter to a lavish, glossy, top-grade magazine format that was more in keeping with its owners’ demographic profile. Many of the client’s customers are classical/jazz artists, pop stars and wealthy professionals who have elected to spend, in some cases, six figures on their piano of choice. Using our experience as a publisher of commemorative editions for historic occasions and significant milestones, the first edition was launched in 2003 as the 150th anniversary issue.  The magazine is still in publication in 2014.

Raffles Hotels & Resorts

Target: Raffles hotel guests

Client Objectives: Provide its guests with a high quality magazine guestroom magazine to reflect the upscale reputation of Raffles Hotels & Resorts

Fables Magazine was already being published by a local firm since  2003 however the client needed a publisher with greater international presence to bring more advertisers that reflect the brands globally expanding reach and improve the production and design. It is distributed in Raffles’ guest rooms, suites, spas and restaurants throughout Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and other locations around the world.

Between 2005 and 2010 Faircount assumed the publishing role, exceeding Raffles’ expectations for improvement in production and design quality. Guests esponded extremely well to the publication because of its superbly illustrated 128 pages featuring in-depth and engaging articles on a wide range of subjects, including travel, dining, fashion, shopping, business and finance, art and culture.

American College of Surgeons

In 2012 the American College of Surgeons appointed Faircount to publish its centenary publication. The college represents over 80,000 members or “fellows” as they are known. These are brain, heart, plastic, ophthalmology, orthopedic, dental and general surgeons along with many other disciplines. The task was therefore to provide a high-grade magazine aimed at illuminating the College’s 2012 anniversary year with a high quality, magazine-style publication containing sophisticated and informed articles on the College’s rich history, scientific and educational programs, and impact on medical progress over 100 years of service. Under the terms of the agreement, the American College of Surgeons mailed the publication directly to fellows and associate fellows of the College as well as patrons, affiliates and other relevant partners. In addition publications were distributed to attendees at the 2012 ACS Clinical Congress, the college’s highly respected annual medical conference.

Faircount also successfully secured new exhibitors at the ACS annual conference. The increase of 10% in the quantity of exhibitors included not only companies from the medical field but also lifestyle companies the ACS had not considered. Faircount thereby introduced another revenue stream and channel for the client and expanded the services the ACS provides to the fellows.
